Masood from Joomlapex.com and I have just created the Joomla! User Group Montréal. If you live in the Montréal area and are a Joomla! fan, join us. In fact, if you live anywhere in Québec you are welcome. Because to this day there is no other Joomla User Group in Québec. French and english speaking people are welcome.

Our mission is to bring together Joomla users and developers from the Montréal area and to promote the use of the Joomla CMS. Come talk on our forum. Soon there will be meetings in a Montréal bar where we could talk about our favorite CMS around a cold beer!

Several persons asked me if Multi Author Tab could display section and category names, so I made a new version 1.2. We can now display names, IDs or both.

I'm currently working to convert the MusicBox extension for Joomla 1.5. The original extension worked only on Joomla 1.0 and the original developer has abandonned the project. So I decided to convert the code and use the Joomla 1.5 API.

Are you using MusicBox on your web site ? I'd like to know which sites use it. Post a comment with your site's URL.

If you want to help, you can join the project on JoomlaCode.org.

Also, I'd like to have data to test the extension. If you have a lot of artists in your MusicBox database, contact me. I'd like to have a MySQL dump of your data.

A new Joomla extension is available : Multi Author Tab.

It's a Community Builder plugin I coded a couple of weeks ago for a client and he asked me to make it available to the community under the GPL license.

Version 1.3.0 of DreamHost Manager is now available. The new features are : MySQL functions (database, hostname and user) and french translation.

The programming contest for the DreamHost API is over. Unfortunately, "DreamHost Manager", my Joomla extension, didn't win. But I'm not giving up on developpment. A new version will be available soon. The new features : french translation, that feature open the way for easy translation in other languages, and new features to get the informations from the MySQL databases.

DreamHost Manager is an extension for Joomla 1.5 that I just finished developping for the DreamHost.com API Contest : http://blog.dreamhost.com/2009/04/09/big-boy-time/

What does it to ? Well, it's useful for people who host their web site on DreamHost's servers. It allows you to manage some features of your account without the need to log in the WebPanel :

• Announcement List
  • See a list of your announcement lists
  • See a list of your subscribers
  • Add or remove subscribers
  • Post an announcement to one or several lists
  • Frontend form to allow visitors to subscribe to a list
• Domain
  • See a list of your domains hosted on DreamHost
  • See your domain registration info

  • See a list of the users on your DreamHost account

My girlfriend make cross-stitch. She started to design her own pattern. The problem is that it's not always easy to find the right color for the thread from the hundreds of available colors. She then asked me to make a script that will find the closet DMC color from RGB values. And that's what I did. It took me an evening to make it work! It's a very simple PHP script with some JavaScript for the form.
